Hotel Interurban

Tukwila, Washington

The nineteen-story Hotel Interurban complex is the centerpiece of Southcenter redevelopment and the tallest building in the area. The tower, in close proximity to the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, includes 189 hotel rooms in the lower levels and over 300 residential units in the upper levels. Two skyclubs on the roof provide 360° of unobstructed views of the surrounding mountain ranges.

Our engineers incorporated post-tensioned flat-plate floors and concrete shear walls to realize the architect's goals. This project also includes a long-span post-tensioned parking garage adjacent to the tower to provide economical parking for residents and guests.

To overcome challenging soil conditions, steel piles were provided to support the tower and the garage.
