Emerald Queen Casino Hotel and Parking (Tacoma)

Tacoma, Washington

The hotel and associated parking levels for Emerald Queen Casino (EQC) in Tacoma are an important part of the overall EQC campus to provide a world-class entertainment experience in the south Puget Sound.  All 155 hotel rooms have breathtaking views of Commencement Bay to the north or Mount Rainier to the south.  Parking provides 564 parking stalls to serve the hotel and to provide additional parking to serve the event center and casino next door.

Included in this design are amenities expected for luxury hospitality facilities, including pool and hot tub facilities on the 4th elevated deck, a fitness area, meeting rooms, and a rooftop restaurant with impeccable views . This building utilizes flat-plate post-tensioned concrete framing with a combination of concrete core walls and straight shear walls to support vertical and lateral loads.  The use of flat-plate concrete floors maximize flexibility for the significant mechanical routing to the units.
