Washington Place, LLC
Group West Architects
Tower: 400,000 sq. ft.
Garage: 90,000 sq. ft.
The nineteen-story Washington Place tower will be a centerpiece of the evolving Southcenter and the tallest building in the area. The tower, in close proximity to the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, will include 189 hotel rooms in the lower levels and over 300 residential units in the upper levels. Two skyclubs on the roof provide 360° of unobstructed views of the mountain ranges around Seattle.
Our engineers incorporated post-tensioned flat-plate floors and concrete shear walls to encompass the architect's goals. We also designed a 300-car long-span post-tensioned parking garage adjacent to the tower to provide a economical parking solution.
To overcome challenging soil conditions, steel piles were provided to support the tower and the garage.
